Nondestructive Testing (NDT) is a type of quality control inspection that does not harm the part being tested. NDT Inspectors use sophisticated technology to look through steel and concrete to identify and diagnose flaws without disrupting the integrity of the structure. An example of Nondestructive Testing would be performing xray on a pipe weld to look for cracks that might cause a leak.

Comprehensive Inspection Career Training
As a graduate of the NDT program you will be prepared to perform Nondestructive Testing using NDT methods such as Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle (MT), Dye Penetrant (PT), Ultrasonics (UT), Eddy Current (ET) and Radiographic Testing (RT).
Not Physically Demanding
While there’s no doubt NDT inspection requires technical knowledge and practical skills, inspection is typically not a physically demanding occupation. The job placement rate for the Nondestructive Testing Program, as calculated according to a program promulgated by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), was 64.44% at the last reporting period (August 2010). During the 2010-2011 Academic Year (July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011) 83.65% of the students who graduated from the Nondestructive Testing Program graduated on-time as defined in The Ocean Corporation catalog. The median student loan indebtedness of graduates from the Nondestructive Testing Program in 2010-2011 was as follows: Federal Stafford Student Loans (subsidized/unsubsidized) - $9,500.00; Federal Parent PLUS Loans - $00.00; Third Party Private Education Loans - $00.00. The tuition and fees cost for a student starting the Nondestructive Testing Program as of the beginning of the 2011-2012 academic year is estimated at $18,700. (Potential future tuition increases cannot be determined at this time, and hence are not factored into this estimate). Book and supply costs are estimated at $305.
